Frequently asked questions
Below are the questions we are asked most often before a job begins. If yours is not covered, send it through the contact page and we will reply in writing.
How do I start a job with inquirix?
Send an enquiry through the contact page describing your equipment, your site and what you want looked at. We read it, ask follow-up questions if needed, and then send a written quotation. Work begins once you confirm that quotation in writing and we have issued an invoice.
Do you work on site or only remotely?
Most consultancy, reviews and audits are done remotely from documents, diagrams and recordings you send. Training sessions can be remote or on site. On-site visits are possible where the job needs them, and travel from Dorchester is included in the quotation.
What should I prepare before an audit or review?
A signal flow diagram, an equipment list, current settings and any recordings that show the fault are the most useful items. For lighting reviews, a plot and photographs of the set help. Incomplete material is fine; we will tell you what is missing.
How is the price of a job decided?
Each service has a starting fee listed on the prices page. The quotation then reflects the size of your set-up, the number of sources, sets or positions, and whether a visit or extra rounds of notes are needed. You see the full figure before agreeing.
How do I pay?
After you confirm the quotation, we send an invoice and you pay by bank transfer. Nothing is paid through the website itself. The invoice shows the amount, the details needed for the transfer and the payment terms agreed.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy, which explains what applies before work starts and once it is under way. If you need to change or stop a job, write to us as early as you can so we can deal with it fairly.
Will you recommend specific equipment?
Camera consultancy includes advice on selection and configuration, and we explain the reasoning so you can compare options. Our recommendations are based on your use, such as studio or outside broadcast, rather than on any single supplier.
Do you write documentation for our own crews?
Yes. Technical writing covers operating manuals, run sheets and internal documents written in plain language for production crews. We agree the scope and an hourly estimate first, and Oliver Banks edits the result so it stays accurate and consistent.
